What to Bring: What to know:

1)      Camera & Batteries

2)      Zip Lock bags for the fish I use 1 gallon faster but you have to have big fish fry’s or separate later

a.       I also found the type that you can vacuum with a pump.

3)      Coolers or purchase in Kodiak. I find that we can put about 100lbs of fish in a cooler from Paul’s to Kodiak then we can get coolers in Kodiak to make them under 50lbs for the plane.  This depends on if the store is open when we are in Kodiak. The air port may have fish boxes if we get crunched.

4)      Duct tape to tape the coolers shut

5)      Clothes for temps from 17 to 70 rain or sunny hat a must

a.       One set of stinky fishing clothes

b.      One set of clean hanging in the cabin hiking clothes

c.       Rain gear a must

d.      Hiking boots as it is fun to hike around there picking Salmon Berries

e.      There should be enough rubber boots up there but if you have a crazy foot size calf boots.

f.        You can bring polyurethane gloves but they  is not necessary you get fishy no matter what

6)      Flash light or head lamp.

7)      Toiletries

8)      I bring a Leatherman tool knife pliers etc.. I will bring several so not necessary (Has to be checked luggage)

9)      Try to keep equipment and clothes to a minimum.

10)   No towels or bedding needed.

11)   Reading material. I often leave my books there for the crew to read.

12)   We will buy fishing supplies in Kodiak (MACS fishing where we will get our licenses as well)

13)   Paul likes German Brick cheese smells worse than limburger and a 5yr Cheddar Millers (Scott)

14)   A case of Lienies would be great but probably not practical.

a.       Beer in Kodiak is the price of gold. I would like to get a pig of beer from the Kodiak micro brewery for Paul

15)   We should fill several coolers with fruits and vegetables and meats in Kodiak

a.       Meats to feed us and the crew (7) for 5 days

b.      Scott it may be cheaper to buy from Fyzingers.

c.        You are more than welcome to bring any venison jerky/brats etc

d.      I am bringing apricot jam

16)   I will also try to check with Paul to see if he needs us to bring out anything special

What to Know:

1)      Rule #1 Fish camp is a dictatorship Paul is the Czar.

2)      Rule #2 Don’t throw sticks for his dog to chase.

3)      Rule #3 When Paul says food is on drop whatever you are doing and goes eat.

4)      Rule #4 Paul and I are both left wing liberals. You don’t have to agree but be mindful and respectful of all opinions.

a.       We like debate not confrontation

5)      Rule #5 when you are more than 50 yards from the cabin or beach you will have a gun or bear spray.

6)      Paul and the crew are at work so give them berth when they have to get things done.

7)      Paul cooks the crew fishes and we do the dishes. Paul can mess ever god damn dish in the place.

8)      We use a lot of Paul’s gas eat his food that he prepares for us. So we generally pitch in some money and send it to him.

9)      We need to tip Viola from Seahawk Air as she carts us around Kodiak getting licenses and coolers and such.

10)   Towels and bedding should be up there.

11)   Keep all your receipts for things so we can settle up at the end.
